Parasol Mushroom

These are just out in the middle of everything on the way to the lookout. I'm pretty sure they are edible and called a Parasol mushroom. I had fun with them though... how could I not, they are soo big. The pics are over about a 3 day period.  We didn't eat them, because I am a bit scared and I didn't realize what they may be until they had wilted to the ground. You can never be too careful.

Mushroom Walk

Mushrooms are so cute!
I have been loving getting to uncover some of these cuties from their bed of leaves.
Let me know if you know what any of them are.

Most of the mushrooms that I have found had white gills,
but this one had dark dark brown beautiful gills.

This one was so cute, and I didn't mean to disturb it the way I did, then I figured I would do an identification trick to see if the stem broke like chalk, or if it was stringy.

It broke like chalk... now I should be able to figure out what it is... or not?

These were allllll over!

Our Counter Tops and Sink!!

K & D Counter Tops did a GREAT job for us again!

Thanks guys!!!

Nice!

This is our tiny kitchen, huge refrigerator, living room, and entry way.... HA!

Glenn had to work today, he worked from 7am-7pm
and he still came home and got the sink hooked up!

And with a smile on his face

A working kitchen sink! I will be using it tomorrow, we just wanted the
drain dope stuff to set before we ran water down.

New Project

As part of our winterizing list, adding a sun room/mudroom was more of a bonus, and an "if we get to it" sort of thing. But when Glenn gets a wild hair, things happen. We had a nice weekend and Glenn's concrete friend Gary was available, so we poured the slab for the sun room and while we were at it they also made a ramp for the extension. It turned out really nice.

First we had to dig the footing, and yes I did help with this...

but, he did most of it

They leveled it with gravel

 Then the concrete truck arrived!

we had to have a conveyor concrete truck that stretched 39 feet

Glenn and Gary hard at work before the concrete set

Sweet!!

Antenna TV

We had a few rainy days last week, and Glenn and I were feeling like lazy bum's and just watching TV. Then Glenn decided that we NEEDED to get a better antenna so some of the stations would come in clear... even on our rainy days. So, that's what we did. We got this big beauty and Glenn welded a bracket that he attached to the side of the cabin so that we could tilt it up and have some magic happen when we turned on the TV... it worked!

Wild Things!!

I added a new page! Yeahh, I can hear everyone cheering!
Anyhow there are a lot of pictures of cute mushrooms and critters that make me happy and hopefully they will do the same for you. Plus if you know what any of them are (I know you do) and would like to share your knowledge with me I would be honored and thankful. Enjoy!

New Pictures!

I have been working on getting this blog caught up on where we actually are so that I can just post somewhat current stuff, and I'm happy to say that I'm almost there! "The Land" tab is almost up to date with our current projects! It's actually been really fun looking at all the pictures that I've taken along the way on the computer instead of just on the the camera. Also getting to see the dates that we started and where we are now is amazing! I am so impressed with all of Glenn's hard work, the solar setup, the cabin and extension, the water set up and filtration system... all of it!
